Goodness am I behind…already.
We are off to great New Year with ARES and it’s already getting busy.
February 7th we will have a Simulated Emergency Test (SET) event. Wade KF5AUD has a plan to test our capability and has asked for volunteers; please let him know if you can help that morning. We will be using 2 meter, HF and establishing stations out at shelter locations and so forth. It’s a larger exercise than normal and ought to be fun.
February 12th at 7pm we have the NWS SKYWARN training out at Grayson County College in the Center for Workplace Learning auditorium. This is the Basic level training which is open to the public, and is highly recommended for all our ARES SKYWARN team members to attend.
Our next face-to-face meeting is this month on the 27th, and concerns APRS uses. We will also continue our ID badge process so if you don’t have the new one come out and join us at the Sherman Municipal Airport at 7 pm.
Hope to catch up with you soon!
