This week is Severe Weather Preparedness Week. Learn how to be a force of nature this week. Go to: www.ready.gov/severe-weather @fema @usnoaagov. In pursuit of a Weather-Ready Nation, the goal of National Severe Weather Preparedness Week is to raise awareness about severe weather hazards and highlight effective preparedness actions.
Here are a couple of tips to think about:
- During an extended power outage, ATMs & credit card machines may not work. Include extra $$ in your emergency kit.
- If you or a family member use a powered chair, plan another way to charge your chair–like using a car charger–or have a manual wheelchair as a backup.
- Know the difference: Watches mean severe weather is possible in upcoming days. Warnings mean severe conditions have begun or will begin soon. Learn more at www.weather.gov.
Have a great week and BE A FORCE OF NATURE.
